“When gossip spreads, everyone adds their lies to it and embellishes it, turning one story that may or may not be true into a hundred different lies. So how do you find the truth? Simple: Don’t bother yourself with news that doesn’t concern you. Keep your faith safe, your tongue clean, and your curiosity in check. You know what you get as a result? A clean heart and a mind that can focus on beneficial things. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘From the goodness of a person’s faith is their abandoning of that which doesn’t concern them’ (Tirmidhi).”
